LOT # 101216

We found this fabric while on a trip in El Paso, Texas. El Paso used to be the jean capital of America, before the NAFTA Agreement came into effect, so consequently there are still treasures to be found down there! This Cone denim is delivered raw and will take a lot of wear and tear. It has a dark shade of steel indigo to it and is incredibly durable. We love finding USA made denim and reclaiming it making this jean a 100% USA made product.

Garment Details: Triple needle construction, chain stitching, 6 belt loops, button fly and heavy weight pocket bags.

Conservation: By purchasing this product you are saving approximately 1850 gallons of water it takes to produce enough cotton to make a single jean. This huge amount of water is for the growing, harvesting, transporting, dyeing and finishing of the textile. You are also helping conserve enormous amounts of machine and human energy along with thousands of miles of transportation.

CONE DENIM, USA

Cone Denim was founded in 1891 in North Carolina, by brothers Moses and Ceasar Cone. In 1895 Moses purchased a defunct steel mill and developed it into a large cotton mill called Proximity that produced blue and brown denim. At the turn of the century, Cone began supplying Levi Strauss and Company, a relationship that is still alive today.

True to its heritage, the White Oak plant in Greensboro, NC, operates as the denim flagship operation, serving as the center for product development and innovation, and the production of Cone Denim’s premium vintage and selvedge denims made exclusively in the USA.

Cone also offers a Sustainblue Collection; an environmentally friendly collection comprised of constructions using recycled cotton, recycled polyester and sustainable yarns. Recently, Cone partnered with Stony Creek Colors, TN, to create a 100% Natural Plant indigo collection. The combination of the mill’s heritage and new innovation in the form of scalable, bio-based natural indigo dye from plants farmed in the USA, have resulted in denim woven in the USA and dyed with indigo grown in the USA, for the first time at Cone in over 100 years.
